Present over Perfect? Yeah, right.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m always searching, for what I’m never sure, but it continues daily.  I think it’s primarily a peaceful spirit and a calm heart and mind, direction….oh wait, I said I was never sure, but of these things I am.  But in today’s time?

Are those things possible?  Many days I don’t think so.  I used to think “when my children are grown, it’ll be easier” but it’s not, it’s just different.

I had to share with you about a book I read recently that I loved so much!  The title first made me think about new Moms and Moms with young ones at home because being present in those times is next to impossible but the very essence of what we need to be.  And yes, that is what this book is about.  But it’s not just limited to Moms with children still at home.  It’s for all of us.  We all need to be present not just for our children but for our own souls, our hearts.  Present with God.  Present with one another.  Present with silence and learning to hear and feel and experience all He has to offer us in this crazy world without rushing by it like a Nascar driver.

The author of this book, Shauna Niequist, has now become one of my favorite authors!  She does have growing children at home, is a very successful author and business woman, but she realized life was passing her by…. where have I heard that before?!  And she realized that SHE had to do something about it.  It’s about the power of saying no, the intentional process of being present without the worry of being perfect, and how much more important present is.

Anyway, just had to share this as it meant so much to me, and is definitely one I want to read again.  In fact, she offers a bible study on it if anyone is interested!  Just click on the book and it will take you right to where it is available!

Have a blessed day!

    Welcome everyone ! I’m Leonard.
Even though I jokingly credit my grandmother for my writing talent, I know that it is a ability I have fostered from childhood. Though my aunt is a writer, I also started out young.
I’ve always had a way with words, according to my favorite teacher . I was always so excited in science when we had to do a research paper .
Now, I help current students achieve the grades that have always come easily to me. It is my way of giving back to schools because I understand the obstacles they must overcome to graduate.
